When Professor Fujimori was asked to exhibit in ‘The Japanese House: Architecture and Life after 1945’ at the Barbican Art Gallery he called on Unit 5 to assist in bringing another of his legendary and unique teahouse to reality. Our involvement ranged from detailing Fujimori’s original design through fabrication, assembly and finishing. The final installation acted as a node point within the iconic Barbican Gallery standing. The teahouse stood as one of the highlights of a fabulous show which attracted tens of thousands of viewers and sparkling reviews from the Guardian, Timeout and Architectural press.
