Situated within the Jesus Hospital Estate Conservation area our proposal for a roof extension to a traditional terraced house, adjacent to Columbia Road Flower market, aimed to be invisible. The massing focused on utilising space from the existing ceiling void and tapering set back to reduce the visual impact on the existing streetscape. One option developed references the delicate butterfly roofs of the neighbourhood. The room layout transformed the house into a 3 bedroom property. Fenestration was carefully developed to permit views but prevent overlooking and loss of privacy issues.
